In May 2011, we were contacted by Birmingham Airport with a request; could we design and construct a hangar by December 2011? The scope of the project was to be a 2,400m2 facility for executive jets.
In conjunction with Birmingham airport and their client Eurojet, we prepared a set of Employers Requirements for an 2,600m2 which can accommodate code C aircraft. This was a conscious decision to make the hangar future proof. As part of the project, offices and an FBO were added.
The total project area became over 3,500m2.
The project was completed in January 2012. – 1 month later than the request from Birmingham airport, but for a much more complex hangar.
The contractor was Sisks.
